Semester courses

The German semester courses are offered in winter and summer semester and can be completed at levels A1 to C1.

Placement

treffpunkt sprachen offers a written placement test. This test must be completed by all course participants with prior knowledge of German. This is how you can find the appropriate level for your German course at treffpunkt sprachen. Exceptions: a Goethe or ÖSD certificate (not older than 2 years); prior participation in German courses at treffpunkt sprachen.

Registration

Students register via UNIGRAZonline, the university’s electronic information and course system (Note: Students from Graz University of Technology, Medical University of Graz and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz must be co-registered at the University of Graz!). University employees and external participants can register via an online form on the website of the respective semester.

Number of participants

The number of participants is limited. The minimum is 15 people. treffpunkt sprachen reserves the right to cancel courses. Only in case of cancellation, course fees that have already been paid will be refunded.

ECTS credits

2 semester hours = 3 ECTS credits

Record of academic achievement

Course certificate for students:

• 80% attendance
• Regular participation
• Achievement of course goals, homework assignments
• Written or an oral examination at the end of the semester
• Printable via UNIGRAZonline several weeks after the end of the course (see "Exam Results").

Confirmation of participation for employees and external participants:

• At least 70% attendance
• Regular participation
• Achievement of course goals.
